This seal-less housing works in conjunction with the bagged filter that supplies all sealing requirements. The housing simply provides structural integrity to your filtration operations.

  • Depth-Clear™ D Series Disposable Containment Systems

    Disposable Containment System featuring Purolator's Depth-Clear Media

    The Depth-Clear™ D Series containment system with the complementary housing completely encloses the lenticular filter cartridge eliminating the potential for atmospheric contamination, product loss, and virtually eliminates the cleanup associated with cartridge change outs. Each cartridge is enclosed within two layers of protective film isolating the cartridge from the housing with an impermeable barrier that minimizes operator exposure to hazardous fluids. The cartridge compression is preset insuring proper cartridge sealing and the reduced fitting requirements add to the ease of change-outs. When a vacuum is applied to the downstream side of the filter, the flexible containment system conforms to the filter cartridge evacuating the remaining fluid and resulting in a negligible hold up volume. This containment system is available in 0.15 - 20 µm and carbon Depth-Clear grades. The Depth-Clear D Series housing requires little maintenance due to the absence of o-rings and gaskets and is available in stainless steel and other alloys that can withstand pressures up to 75 psi.

    The unique design of the Depth-Clear D Series containment system along with the accompanying housing has the ability for scale-up. When process needs become greater, the modular containment system can be expanded, doubling, or tripling the original effective filtration area while still retaining the original footprint.

    The Depth-Clear D Series filter cartridges are constructed of specially formulated cellulose and inorganic filter aids to provide reliable particle retention and enhanced throughput for superior performance in critical applications. The filter medium utilizes mechanical and electrokinetic adsorptive capture mechanisms to remove particles, microorganisms, colloids, and other contaminants from process streams. The Depth-Clear D Series proprietary formulation process produces filter media with a highly effective filtration area that provides superior particle retention, high contaminant holding capacity, and long on-stream filter life.

    High Strength Lenticular Cartridges and Filter Sheets for Demanding Applications

    Depth-Clear™ H Series depth filter sheets and lenticular cartridges are constructed of specially formulated cellulose, inorganic filter aids, and processed in a manner to impart a 150% increase in the strength of the media. Depth-Clear sheets and cartridges provide reliable particle retention and enhanced throughput for superior performance in critical applications. The filter medium utilizes mechanical and electrokinetic adsorptive capture mechanisms to remove particles, microorganisms, colloids, and other contaminants from process streams. The cartridge format allows the filtration process to occur within a totally enclosed environment to eliminate the potential for atmospheric contamination and product loss through leakage.

    The Depth-Clear H Series proprietary formulation process produces filter media with a highly effective filtration area that provides superior particle retention, high contaminant holding capacity, and long on-stream filter life. The media is manufactured by means of an advanced, highly automated production process that results in very consistent product quality and filtration performance.     High Capacity Activated Carbon Filter Modules

    DEPTH-CLEAR C Series filter modules are comprised of highly porous activated carbon combined with cellulose fibers. The unique formulation process creates filter media with exceptionally high void volume allowing the module to be efficient in decolorizing fluids and absorbing a wide array of unwanted contaminants from process streams. The encapsulated design of DEPTH-CLEAR C Series modules eliminates many of the common process and safety issues associated with bulk activated carbon technology.

    Each grade of DEPTH-CLEAR C media is formulated to optimize retention and flow properties to meet an application’s requirements. Manufacturing by means of an advanced, highly automated production process results in very consistent product quality and filtration performance. The modules are available in configurations that provide up to 38 ft2 of surface area per module.

Purolator, a leader in depth media development, has invested years of research and development to create a range of filter grades to meet stringent application requirements.

    The DEPTH-CLEAR proprietary formulation process produces filter media with exceptionally high, effective filtration area that provides superior particle retention, high contaminant holding capacity, and long on-stream filter life. Manufacturing by means of an advanced, highly automated production process results in very consistent product quality and filtration performance. Purolator can provide technical assistance to validate the performance of DEPTH-CLEAR filters in new processes and applications.

    DEPTH-CLEAR Pharmaceutical Grade (P Series) filter modules are manufactured to procedures described in a Drug Master File (DMF) on record at the National Center for Drugs and Biologics. The filter media is non-toxic in accordance with systemic injection testing. A special low extractable (LE Series) grade is available for susceptible processes and high purity applications. The DEPTH-CLEAR P & LE grades have complete product control and traceability, as set forth in the Drug Master File.

    Depth Filter Modules for Critical Hydraulic Fluids

    DEPTH-CLEAR utility grade filter modules are designed to meet the critical needs of the power distribution and generation industries in the reconditioning of dielectric oil used in transformers and circuit breakers. DEPTH-CLEAR media is formulated from specially selected cellulose fibers and inorganic filter aids. The cellulose fibers are highly refined in the manufacturing process to provide increased surface area, resulting in a filter with increased filtration efficiency and greater contaminant holding capacity. Two different series and three different media grades are available.
